Legends are not born; they are forged in fire, against overwhelming odds on the battlefield. Gods of War is the legendary untold story of the soldiers from Blackhawk Company 1st Battalion 23rd Infantry Regiment. A part of the Army’s first Stryker Brigade, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division out of Fort Lewis Washington. Blackhawk Company, against all odds, and facing enormous amounts of pressure, would end up transforming from a regular Army unit, into one of the finest Infantry rifle companies of modern warfare.

This story will take you on a journey from the early days immediately following 9/11/2001, through the brutal day-to-day grind of a yearlong combat deployment to Iraq in 2003-2004. Almost single handed, Blackhawk Company would hold down the western half of Mosul for nine months. Fighting terrorists, IEDs, political corruption within the local Iraqi Government, and a growing insurgency. Blackhawk Company would find itself locked into a fight against a very determined enemy who was hellbent on their destruction in one of the largest and longest battles of the entire War in Iraq on August 4th, 2004.
