This book is a superbly written account of the battle between Britain and Argentina for the Falkland Islands, and will probably stand the test of time as the main account of what took place there in 1982. Authors Hastings and Jenkins provide an excellent account of the history of the islands, the dispute between the warring factions, the political power games being played between Britain, Argentina, and the U.S., and finally, an incredibly well written account of the military campaign itself. The capabilities and strategies of Britain and Argentina are thouroughly discussed and will leave the reader quite satisfied with the account.
